Another occasional update

Still not dead! I have had some more exciting medical adventures which I won't be detailing. But I have taken up a little bit of twittering and you can find me here: https://twitter.com/CathCanCook

In other news, I have seen a great list of Canberra-based food blogs that might interest my one or two remaining followers :)

Also, the awesome Lonsdale St Roasters (blessings be upon them for selling me coffee beans late yesterday arvo, despite their "closed" sign) have just got a new kitchen in their larger outlet, and will be doing some serious breakfasts as of now. I've never blogged about them, since they opened after I mostly stopped, but I do love them.

And finally, I am busy making finger-lime marmalade - my tiny tree produced over 2kg this year. I am using a variant on my favourite Airlie's Seville marmalade recipe and I have no idea if this will work. I'm guessing it should - these are very bitter skinned fruit so the proportions should be about right.

  1. What is a Canberra? Is it a place in Australia? I was hearing about it on http://www.wfscanberra.com.au/ and I was trying to figure out if it was a place or not.

  3. Heya!

I am here because I just re-read a comment you made in January of 2015 on my blog, mentioning a (at the time) 6 month life sentence. And I cried, because your comment was wonderful and (I thought) it might be too late to tell you so.

I am hoping you are still around to read this. As I said at my father in law's funeral, we live on only in the influence we have had on each others' lives. I guess I just want you to know, if you are near your final bow, that you have made a difference, that you are appreciated, that you will live on in the only way my world view knows.

I won't offer you false hope, like I see other commenters doing. I wish I could offer something meaningful. But all I can do is say "thank you". And offer my small audience, if you have anything you want to say.

But mostly, just thank you. I wish I could do more.
