I imagine you've done your research very carefully, but just in case you missed it there is some very useful information concerning home-made recipes for use in cases of feline kidney disease at http://www.felinecrf.org/which_foods.htm#homemade_foods.Chaa006https://www.blogger.com/profile/00007714578401273047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4649791497647402613.post-78122788121956607732009-10-29T21:44:11.525+11:002009-10-29T21:44:11.525+11:00@ info-addict: when you brave the rose tin, grease...@ info-addict: when you brave the rose tin, grease it very very very well, and flour or cocoa it for an even better chance that the completely beautiful shape will come out in one piece. I have a tin like this, and have learned these wise ways through painful experience... altho it WAS fun sitting around with 3 other ppl, teaspoons and a bit of cream, digging out bits of warm chocolate cake lodged in the petals!BJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06922264732788568346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4649791497647402613.post-80010420927357387592009-10-26T23:56:10.664+11:002009-10-26T23:56:10.664+11:00Hi Dannielle. They have a secret supplier from South Australia with interesting kinds - peach, quince and apricot, for instance, as well as orange and lemon peel. But they don't make cherries, so it's back to the random health food stores for those. (As if glace fruit were health food!)

The one thing I recommend against is the cheap packs of mixed dried fruit. They tend to have nasty fake gelatine cherries.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16065911959630020376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4649791497647402613.post-74359374461073841052009-10-25T22:20:58.550+11:002009-10-25T22:20:58.550+11:00Cath where do you buy your fruit for your xmas cak...Cath where do you buy your fruit for your xmas cake? A hard time for everyone. Treat yourself as well as you treat your cats; you're more emotional than they are and you deserve it.

I've got a Bundt pan which turns out a rose-shaped cake, which I'm yet to actually use for anything ... I must do some baking to at least use up my surplus eggs!! Sleeping too much - prolly a case of SAD. But this way I have half of it left still for tomorrow ,I think - I need to eat my lettuce before it goes off.

Gonna try to stew some pointy cabbage in a minute. I'd have forsworn I'd ever willingly try that. I was such a picky eater as a kid. If it turns out bad, at least I have the defrosted meatballs.

Impressive cakepan. I've never baked anything adventurous. Wouldn't know where to start decorating.

Bonne chance!Jens Knudsen (Sili)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14078875730565068352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4649791497647402613.post-52272480248837099752009-10-22T22:18:19.563+11:002009-10-22T22:18:19.563+11:00Excellent cake, and good to hear the moggies are g...Excellent cake, and good to hear the moggies are going well enough. Nippy was on the renal diet for a few months before her final collapse. It's hard work.

You could ice the cake as Cthulu pretty successfully.Mummy/Crithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08353892248492164501noreply@blogger.com
